By choosing to work with JEO Publishing, you agree to the following Terms of Service. These terms outline the rights and responsibilities of both JEO Publishing and the author to ensure a smooth and transparent publishing process.
A) Author Rights & Obligations
As an author working with JEO Publishing, you:

Personalized Support:

Will be assigned a Publishing Manager as your main point of contact throughout the production process and for 30 days post-publication. After this period, communications will transition to our Post-Publication Support Team.

Ownership & Rights:

Retain 100% ownership of your manuscript, including all intellectual property rights.

Maintain full control over the editorial and file-creation process.
-
Any ISBNs assigned to your book by JEO Publishing remain under your ownership.

Royalties & Payments:

You will receive 100% of the royalties earned from book sales.
-
Sales reports from distribution partners will be accessible via your Author Dashboard.

Payments will be processed according to your chosen payment method and schedule.

Distribution & Author Copies:

Your book will be distributed through JEO Publishing’s worldwide distribution network.

You may order author copies of your book at cost, which can be shipped globally. Author copy orders cannot be canceled once placed.

Confidentiality & Security:

JEO Publishing will never share your manuscript or intellectual property with third parties except for authorized Distribution Partners and marketing efforts related to your book.

Legal Responsibilities & Indemnification:

You warrant that you own or control the necessary rights to your manuscript.

You agree to indemnify JEO Publishing against any claims, liabilities, or legal disputes that arise from the publication of your material.

Any outstanding balance due to book returns must be reimbursed within 30 days of notice in accordance with our Book Returns Policy.

Withdrawal Rights:

You may withdraw your book from sale at any time, for any reason, by providing written notice to JEO Publishing.

Satisfaction Guarantee (applies to file-creation services; editing and marketing services excluded):

We will continue working on your project until you are fully satisfied.

Your approval of files (e.g., front cover, sample layouts, and illustrations) confirms your satisfaction.

B) Author Code of Conduct
To ensure a professional and productive working relationship, authors agree to:

Maintain professionalism and respect in all communications.
-
Refrain from using abusive, harmful, or offensive language.
-
Consolidate emails whenever possible for efficient communication.
-
Appoint a single spokesperson for correspondence if there are multiple contributors to the project.
-
Adhere to production timelines and respond promptly to maintain workflow efficiency.
Failure to adhere to the Code of Conduct may result in the termination of services as outlined in Section C(3).
C) JEO Publishing’s Rights & Obligations
JEO Publishing reserves the right to:

Refuse or Remove Content:
-
We may refuse or remove any manuscript that:
-
Promotes hate, discrimination, or violence toward any group based on race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.

Is involved in legal disputes with third parties.
-
Jeopardizes our brand or reputation, at our sole discretion.

Termination of Services:
-
If an author violates the Code of Conduct, we may terminate our working relationship.

In the event of termination, all files created will be returned to the author as per Section A(2).

Termination does not prevent an author from independently republishing their work.

Royalties & Financial Obligations:
-
JEO Publishing reserves the right to offset any balance due against an author’s royalties.

If there is still an outstanding balance after offset, JEO Publishing may seek further payment.

Distribution & Author Copy Services:
-
Our distribution service is rendered once a book is delivered to our Distribution Partners. We are not responsible for any delays, rejections, or display issues by third-party retailers.

Our author copy service is complete once books are handed over to a reputable mail carrier.
-
JEO Publishing is not liable for lost, damaged, or delayed shipments. However, if books contain manufacturing defects, we will refund or replace them in accordance with our Defective Copies Policy.

Third-Party Adjustments:

JEO Publishing works with third-party manufacturers and distribution partners for print-on-demand services.

If our partners increase print costs or change policies, we will provide notice in your Author Dashboard.

Installment Payments & Service Suspension:

If you are paying for services via installment, payments will be automatically processed each month.

If a payment attempt fails, JEO Publishing will attempt another charge with notice to you.

Failure to make timely payments may result in temporary suspension of book distribution.

Modifications to Terms:

JEO Publishing reserves the right to update these Terms of Service with notice in your Author Dashboard.

D) Additional Considerations

Tax Compliance:
-
Canadian & US authors earning more than $10 in royalties per calendar year will receive a tax form (e.g., 1099-MISC for U.S. taxpayers) by January 31st of the following year.

Legal Jurisdiction:

Any claims or disputes related to these Terms of Service shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in [Province, Canada].

By working with JEO Publishing, you consent to the personal jurisdiction of courts in this location.

Legal Fees & Enforcement:

If a legal dispute arises, the prevailing party may recover reasonable legal costs and attorneys’ fees.

Acceptance of Terms
By working with JEO Publishing, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by the Terms of Service & Author Bill of Rights outlined above.
